Christmas Shoebox Appeal 2019 – Belle Vue Combined School

Due to unforeseen circumstances, The Jermain Defoe Foundation has experienced delays with presenting this update.

Being a part of the Shoe Box Journey is a fulfilling experience that we are thrilled to be able to share with you. Beyond the kind giving, hopefully, you will feel a sense of satisfaction knowing your efforts make a difference in the life of another.

From the humble beginnings of an empty shoebox being filled by an enthusiastic individual in the UK to a child across the Atlantic in the Caribbean opening that gift is a joy to behold. The essential planning and organising needed to ensure the children receive these gifts ultimately is overshadowed by the sheer glee displayed by the pupils receiving them and is the highlight of this annual project.

In 2019, The Jermain Defoe Foundation was given the opportunity to spend an afternoon with the pupils of Belle Vue Combined School in St Lucia, courtesy of the Principle – Ms J Fontenelle. We are most grateful for the lovely pictures received.
