Job Title: Fundraising Gala Dinner Volunteer
Purpose: The Volunteer will help with the Jermain Defoe Foundation’s Gala Dinner 2018 in Aid of Dominica Hurricane Relief. The aim of this event is to raise funds for the children & families of Dominica who have suffered from the devastations caused by hurricane Maria in Septmeber 2017.
Date availability: The event will be held on the evening of 13th February 2018. The individual must be available to attend initial meetings and training prior to this event.
Location: Initial meetings will be held at the Romford office – Jermain Defoe Foundation, 2-4 Eastern Road, Romford, RM1 3PJ. The event on the 13th February 2018 will be held at Grosvenor House, Park Lane, London.
Job Role and Responsibilities:
The individual will be one of the ‘on the ground’ volunteers on the evening of the event making sure the event runs smoothly. Responsibilities could include:
- Taking names of guests as they arrive
- Escorting guests to their tables
- Selling raffle tickets
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure at a high-profile social event
- Previous experience of working at events
- Good organisational skills
